Year-End Trip to Singapore & Southeast Asia

We are planning for a Supermomos trip to Singapore during the week of Dec 18, 2023 - save the date! We will have friends in Singapore who will take the group to eat delicious local food at cool places such as the hawker center featured in Crazy Rich Asians! There'll also be groups checking out speakeasies and nightlife. In addition to an amazing foodie and cultural experience, meet new friends in tech & finance in Singapore, and of course, also bond with those who are on the trip together! The trip will generally be free and easy, and we'll also help to put together groups that want to travel around the rest of Southeast Asia the previous week of Dec 11. Stay tuned for more :)

What Happened Last Week

So inspiring learning from Robin Li, Principal at GGV Capital! Robin's advice for young entrepreneurs and aspiring investors was to avoid perfectionism and cultivate an open mind, respectively. She stressed the importance of seeking out supportive mentors and cultivating time management skills. Thank you, GGV Capital (global VC firm managing $9.2 billion in capital) and Perkins Coie (top law firm for tech cos), for making this possible!

Had such an insightful conversation with Lauren Smith (Ex-Head of Strategy, Foursquare) and Michael Montero (Ex-CTO, Resy), now Co-Founders of Refer (the go-to platform for faster hiring, stronger candidate pools and better retention)! To aspiring founders, Lauren advised learning all aspects of running a business while Michael suggested focusing on revenue-generating tasks and finding a co-founder with a bias for action. Their advice to their younger selves: own your style and passions, get a lawyer early, and set boundaries.

We had a blast at the SuperBrands Consumer Fair with Rara, Love, Bonito, Lady Wong, and Lo & Sons! Women and allies enjoyed mingling over delicious treats and learning from passionate leaders behind each brand. It was heartwarming to see so many people come together to celebrate For/By female consumer brands, in honor of Women's History Month!
